Type Ratings are provided by our experienced instructors, who will ensure you receive the best training possible.
Once you have achieved your Private Pilot’s Licence or PPL(H), we can provide the necessary training to learn to fly different helicopter types. Helicopter Type Rating courses range from 5-8 hours of flight training on the type (depending on complexity) plus a skills test.
Shawgrove Helicopters offer a range of helicopter type ratings to add to your licence. All type ratings consist of a groundschool element before moving onto the flying phase.
For twin turbine ratings you will generally require a minimum of 8 hours flying time.

As well as the 2 seat Schweizer 300CBi, the 6 seat AS355N twin turbine helicopter and 5 seat Bell 206 Jetranger turbine helicopter are also available.
