Providing flight instruction to train student pilots to command a commercial helicopter.
Shawgrove Helicopters can provide training to a high standard for the EASA Commercial Pilot Licence.
We aim beyond what is required to just pass the skills test at the end of the course. Your training will include the ground-based aspects of planning and organisational structure as well as flying the helicopter.
The Commercial Pilot Licence course consists of 30 hours of dual flight training. Of this, 20 hours are visual flight instruction and 10 hours are instrument training. We also offer the night rating which requires 5 hours of additional flying at night if done within the CPL course.
Before starting the Commercial Pilot Licence course at Shawgrove Helicopters, you must hold a Class I medical, have 155 hours of flight time on helicopters. Of these, 50 hours must be Pilot in Command time with a minimum of 10 hours of cross-country flying.
You must also have completed the CPL or ATPL ground exams.
As well as the 2 seat Schweizer 300CBi, the 6 seat AS355N twin turbine helicopter and 5 seat Bell 206 Jetranger turbine helicopter are also available.
